PROTECTION

Keeping mum moving during her labour may make her birth shorter and limit the need for interventions.

Walking as much as possible during the first stage of labour and moving into comfortable positions during active labour will promote progression.

When a mother is left to use her instincts organically, she feels comfortable and confident to birth her baby. This may encourage an increase the production of essential hormones needed during labour.

Protecting the birth space of a labouring woman is so important to ensure she has a nurtured, gentle, undisturbed birth. Keeping her birth space quiet with dim lights and lots of support increases her chances of a successful VBAC.
